Atascosa Wildlife
Wildlife abounds in this unique Tip of Texas! The 88,000 acre Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge surrounds the area and the north entrance at Adolph Thomae County Park is 5 miles away. The Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge and the South Padre Island National Seashore are pleasant drives from Arroyo City. The Lower Rio Grande Valley is also home to some of Texas’ best state parks. These include Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley, Estero Llano Grande, and Resaca de la Palma. The World Birding Center (WBC) has satellite locations in many valley cities, the closest being Harlingen.
